Remote Installation Wizard
Content distribution applications often involve dozens or even hundreds of servers. With CA XOsoft Content Distribution 4.0, the problem disappears. A new remote installation wizard allows the software to be deployed remotely on multiple target servers at once, for complete ease of installation and configuration from a single console.
Linux Support
Linux is going mainstream and so the need for enterprise-class Linux replication and content delivery support is becoming critical. Replication support is needed not just for Linux-only content distribution networks; cross-platform replication capabilities are also becoming critical to support mixed networks which combine Linux platforms with other operating systems.
Microsoft 64-Bit Operating System Support
The latest 64-bit hardware and software is able to provide impressive gains over traditional 32-bit architectures and so 64-bit Windows Server 2003 is fast becoming the platform of choice for Windows servers. CA XOsoft Content Distribution 4.0 fully supports the Microsoft 64-bit Windows Server 2003 operating system on AMD64 and Intel EM64T processors.
New Scenario Wizard
To further ease configuration of your disaster recovery system, CA XOsoft Content Distribution 4.0 now offers a new scenario wizard, which will walk you through each step of creating a content distribution or consolidation scenario.
Improved Scenario Status Information
CA XOsoft Content Distribution 4.0 significantly improves the display of status information for the common case of a one-to-one replication scenario, graphically depicting state, replication direction and spool usage information. In addition, expanded information may now be viewed for multiple scenarios through the addition of customizable columns.
Ability to Apply Changes to Multiple Scenarios Simultaneously
If you are running CA XOsoft Content Distribution on many servers, it will generally be true that a change needed in one scenario will probably have to be made in several or many others as well. CA XOsoft Content Distribution 4.0 now provides the ability to apply configuration changes to many scenarios at once, rather than requiring that the change be made over and over to each one individually.
Assessment Mode to Determine Exact Bandwidth Required
Estimating the bandwidth required to replicate changes on your servers is a key and often difficult step in determining the infrastructure required to support your content distribution or consolidation capability. With CA XOsoft Content Distribution 4.0, the task becomes easy. Simply install CA XOsoft Content Distribution on the source servers and start it in assessment mode. CA XOsoft Content Distribution will measure the actual data changes occurring on the system to report precisely how much will be transferred when actual replication starts.
